Writer-performers Annabelle Gurwitch, Wendy Spero and Beth Lapides will take part in a literary salon at Makor, 35 W. 67th St. (between Columbus + Central Park West), on Thursday, January 25th at 7 PM.
According to press notes, "the three NYC expatriates will discuss their new books – Spero's bestselling Microthrills, Lapides' Did I Wake You: Haikus for Modern Living, and Gurwitch's paperback edition of Fired! Moderator Gurwitch also dishes about the documentary film adaptation of Fired! which showcases colorful tales of unexpected unemployment. Celebrate Labor Day with Fired! - September 2nd
Fired! will be celebrating Labor Day on NPR with the broadcast of stories from the book on the series The play's The Thing on selected NPR stations around the country on Sept 2nd. Fired Stories with commentary by Annabelle will air on XM Satellite Radio's Sonic Theater Channel, Channel 163, on Labor Day at 9pm (Eastern) and again on Sunday, Sept. 3rd at noon (Eastern).

with a world premiere at South By South West Film Festival in Austin.
We’ve had sold out screenings at San Francisco Documentary Festival, Provincetown Film Festival and received a special screening by the Tucson Film Society at the Loft Cinema in Arizona.

The Hyman S. and Freda Bernstein Jewish Literary Festival opens Sunday, Sept. 10, and runs through Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the D.C. Jewish Community Center, 1529 16th St. NW. The festival kicks off early with a pre-opening lunchtime event on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at noon with Nora Ephron discussing her new book, I Feel Bad About My Neck: And Other Thoughts on Being a Woman .
